Brad’s Electronics believes in the Pontotoc County Animal Rescue and Shelter

Pontotoc County Animal Rescue and Shelter was founded in February 2011 and became a Special Project of the Create Foundation in April 2011. Founded by Katie Jackson, the organization has bloomed from an idea to a 9 member board of directors who are striving to open the best facility for homeless animals within Pontotoc County, Mississippi and the surrounding area. At this time, the organization is on a search mission for land to purchase and eventually build a facility. PCARS has performed 2 rescues, one abuse case and one abandoment case. Because there is no where to keep the animals, fosters were used for these 2 dogs until they were adopted. Pontotoc County Animal Rescue and Shelter is a special project of the Create Foundation.
Their new fundraising project is a city coupon booklet. They have coupons in them from businesses in Tupelo, Pontotoc, New Albany, Iuka, Ripley, Corith, Amory, Aberdeen, Fulton, Columbus and a few more. There are over 700 coupons in the book. All procedds do go to hely the shelter. Brad’s Electronics Authorized DIRECTV Dealer store located at Highway 15 North, is excited to have some of these awesome coupon books on hand. Please stop by and see us today to get yours.

For those who may not have seen her, we recently took in a sweet girl named Emma. She was in our parking lot homeless and scared. She showed some signs of mistreatment and malnourishment. Today Emma is thriving and healthy and loved by everyone in the office. She still gets a little skiddish around some strangers but overall has adapted well.

GIMME MY INTERNET!!!

Do you know all the terms and jargon associated with satellite internet? Most people don’t. In fact most people just say —GIVE ME MY INTERNET!
That’s all fine and good but sometimes it can be to your benefit to know what you are looking at when searching for a provider for your internet needs. Hughes Net is top of the chain in service and available features and here is just a sampling of some behind the scenes details that you might find interesting if you are a current Hughes Net customer , or if you are looking to join the Hughes Net family with Brads Electronics. So get a big tall glass of sweet tea and read up.
Broadband is the common term utilized to reference high-speed info transmission through networks, and these days is utilized increasingly to indicate a fast World Wide Web connection. The phrase has more to do with the electrical waveform being transmitted. The transmission can come to you via a variety of actual instruments: a Digital subscriber line, a T1 line, a TV wire, a wireless link and even your utility electrical power cable. Should you reside in a rural area, the only true broadband choice is satellite internet.
Which physical set up is greatest for you depends a great deal on what is accessible in your geographical region and also the price of every arrangement. You should compare speeds and costs and select what is optimal for you. Just be sure you don’t choose an ISDN line (simply because it is obtaining obsolete) or electric power line (simply because the technologies is not mature, also it is going to be many years prior to the bugs are ironed out).
High-speed broadband Web access has introduced a lot of useful capabilities towards the rural web user:

1. Good Movies

Very first of all, you are able to get smooth, non-jerky video. Who wants to be watching the funny lady sing on You Tube only to buffer every 10 seconds??? As a result a large number of sites are including rich graphics, Flash and movies to improve the attractiveness of these messages. You can now download feature films from more than 200,000 Web TV stations and view them while they stream into your computer. No additional trips towards the video library and no more need for renting DVDs!

You can share your display and consult with co-workers located far from you (or perhaps relax and play Xbox 360 or PS2 games along with them). You are able to interact together in the convenience of the home pc, and also the require for a physical office could be avoided. This implies less travel inside your car, much less gas consumption and much less pollution of the environment by engine tailpipe fumes.

You can search online video records with specific search engines like yahoo. This signifies you are able to download videos that fit your selected key phrases. Examples could be “online sports”, “twenty five ways to save money” or “how to fix a faucet”. There is no longer a have to await your subject to be broadcast.

2. Inexpensive International calls

Broadband has allowed the wonder of cheap long-distance Internet telephone systems. This program relies on the well-known technology, Voice over internet protocol. You are able to now talk to your family or business colleagues generally in most other areas in the world for only 2 cents per minute!

No a lot more waiting for late hours midweek or weekends to get those “no cost minutes”… you can have enough money to speak anytime. Additionally, the sound clearness is a number of times better than that of a traditional telephone call… voices are loud and crystal clear with little if any background noise.

This signifies you are able to keep in contact a lot more frequently. You are able to get information quicker and provide information without having delay. As an example, a well-timed declaration regarding a certain medical treatment could very well protect the life of the person on the other end!

3. Always On Line
With high speed broadband, you’re always connected with the Internet. No a lot more dialing up and waiting to get in touch. The phone dialing period is liberated for you personally to use for other agendas.
Typically, you get a telephone connection using the concurrently talk about the phone and browse the Web. Your phone line won’t be busy whenever you browse to ensure that individuals can access you even when you are online.
One essential element of the constant connectivity is protection. You can have affordable webcams attached in various areas of the house or office and connect them to the Internet. Because your internet connection connection is constantly live, you can monitor your home from anywhere, anytime. No more being concerned when away from your desk or living room!

Review
The day isn’t very far when dial up internet connections will be a distant memory. If you have not upgraded to broadband, start working at doing this right now. You’ll definitely not rue this.

The Pixie lives!

Well… sort of.  The Pixie is currently being absolutely tortured by Laryngitis at the moment.  See, I have this issue.  I like to talk.  When I can’t talk it’s probably the worst thing in the world for me.  I know it seems to be a blessing for everyone else (almost positive of that since both Brad and Stoney have said it’s a whole lot quieter in the office! :P ), but for me… not so much.

It also makes doing my job a million times harder as I do 90% of my work on the phone.  Obviously if I can’t do more than whisper and croak like a frog, I can’t be on the phone.  I do try to do things around the office to at least help.  I make sure that my co-workers don’t have to do a whole lot of guess work in the area I schedule for.  They can still ask me questions and I’ll try as hard as possible to answer them (yay for sticky notes!).  I’m getting really good at pointing a lot too.  It’s just extremely frustrating.  Both for me and for them.  In my defense though, I do as much as possible.  Plus there’s a bonus!  I’m not as annoying as I could be.  That will change when I can speak again though.  ;)

Oh, and… I have some great news!  Well, more like I put shiney baubles on the side of my truck.  However, shiney baubles are great news!!

Wanna see what the shiney baubles are?  Do ya?

Of course you do…

Pixie Mobile!!! I still need the rest of the letters, but they're shiney!!

Up close and personal with the shiney baubles.

They stuck on there pretty well too.  Now all I need is pixie stickers… hmmm…

Happy Happy stuff…

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend.  I know I had a fairly decent one.  Aside from the rain that is.  I did have a pretty good birthday… if you count losing $120 at the casino a good birthday.  At least I didn’t get money out of the ATM and keep going. ;)   I was tempted, very tempted, but I didn’t.  I was a good girl.  It’s really not as bad as it sounds though, because I had a great time even though I lost.  It could have been worse.  Trust me on that one.  Over the alternative, I’ll take losing the money.

At any rate, so there were plenty of bbq’s and fireworks going off this past weekend.  Hopefully everyone enjoyed them and didn’t blow themselves up.  The weekend spent in the ER is definitely not a fun time for anyone.  Well, unless you have a crush on one of the nurses.  Then I suppose it was a fun time ;) .  I personally do not as they have pointy things to poke me with, and I’m so not a fan of those.  What?  Those things are dangerous.

So, here we are, ready to take on the new week .  The pixie is another year older, full of bbq, and allowed to make booms.  The pixie is happy.  Now all we need is expresso and one of those giant Hershey’s bars!

What?  Oh it won’t be that bad…

Welcome to Wednesday

So, it’s the middle of the week, and things are somewhat looking up.  The first couple of days of this week matched the last few days of last week.  Rainy.  Now, don’t get me wrong.  We needed the rain.  I know we did.  Yet, at the same time, the rain just makes our jobs that much harder simply for the fact that our techs can not do their job in the rain.  So, because of that, we have to shift everyone around so everyone gets taken care of.  I love my job, I really do, but it’s weeks like these that just make me question my sanity.  Er, well… more than usual ;) .

It’s alright though.  Everyone will get their HughesNet systems installed in a timely manner.  Because we here at Brad’s Electronics are just that good.  If you could see me you’d know I was doing the muscle man pose.  I don’t know why.  Lord knows I don’t have any muscles to bulge out, but ya know… I don’t think it really matters.  It’s a power pose.  Strike a pose!  Vogue!

Oh, where was I?  Oh yes, rain.  I’m, again, really glad that we’re getting weather that will benefit our crops and such.  Just… does it really have to rain buckets and buckets so many days in a row?  Can’t we have like some water conservation or something?  Spread it out just a little?  I won’t mind.  I swear.

At any rate, we here at the office are running around singing in the rain.  Hey, it’s entertainment.  As long as we don’t get sick, it should be fine.  The pixie is never happy when she’s sick.  You’ve seen kids whine when they’re sick?  Yeah, now imagine that but a million times worse.  That’s me when I’m sick.  So, I probably shouldn’t play in the rain too much.  I definitely shouldn’t sing in it.

Image from the movie. It was good. You should watch it.

Who’s up for post-it note football?!

Birthday Bash….

So our fearless leader, Mr. White, turned a whole year older yesterday.  Yes, I’m okay with celebrating peoples journey into geriatric-ness (yes I know it’s not a word).  I’m not okay with celebrating my own.  Which sadly is also fast approaching.  However, this is about Brad’s birthday.

Ms. Connie decided to put together a party for him.  Naturally, we were all okay with this.  There’s cake, ice cream, and all manner of goodies.  Who wouldn’t be okay with that?  So, about 10 or so we get started.  The cake was already ordered, everything all laid out and ready to go, and veggies needed chopping.  Not a bad start.

Except for the homemade ice cream.  It just was determined to not be eaten yesterday.

Ms. Connie and Ms. Becky slaving away.

That white thing in front of Ms. Connie is the ice cream maker.  That thing was so temperamental but the ice cream was delicious anyway.

Then I got to go outside and play with my most favoritest (it’s a word, it counts) thing in the whole world.  The grill.  Well, specifically, the fire in the grill.  I sadly did not get pictures of the fireballs, but the burgers were awesome.  Yes, I am rubbing that one in.

Celebrating the Boss Man's birthday

I helped with the decorations.  Just a streamer that said “Happy Birthday” all over it.  In pretty pink and blue words.  What?  It was cute.  Stop looking at me like that.  Anyway.

Birthday Cake!

There’s that cake I couldn’t do anything but stare at.  Some days it just does not pay to be me, because that cake looked so delicious.  We still have some left in the fridge too.  It’s just sitting there teasing me.  I want to eat it, but I know if I do I’ll be miserable.  Everyone else seemed to enjoy it though. :(

So, that was it.  Just a little party for Brad White.  Now we just wait for my birthday.  From what I hear my mommy is getting me Star Wars stuff!  Yay!  What?  Kids aren’t the only ones who love the Vadar masks!

No, I’m not telling you how old I really am or will be… :P

Blah Monday…

Hey guess what?  Oh yeah, it’s so a Monday.  Can we ban that day from the calendar?  Seriously.  It always seems to be the worst day of the week.  If I could skip that day then the week would turn out perfect!  Well, probably not.  Because then I’d just end up hating Tuesdays or something.  Still though, if I could have stayed in the bed another 4 hours or so, I’d have been doing great, but oh no!  I just had to roll out of bed.  My alarm got some serious abuse this morning though.  The beeping at me at 6am just was not good for it.

I did get a massive Pepsi to help me trudge through the day.  Who knew you could get them in 1.5 liters?!  I’m totally in love.

So, this weekend went decently enough.  I took Dad out on Saturday night for Father’s Day since he already had plans for Sunday.  I was going to take him to the casino.  Although, I told Mom I was taking him to a strip club.  Man, you should have seen her face.  I didn’t, though.  I couldn’t risk bodily harm to either of us.  That little woman can be quite scary.

We didn’t make it to the casino, though.  He mentioned that Hank Williams, Jr. was playing in a few weeks and he really wanted to see that.  So, of course, I told him we’d go then so he could see Bo Sephus, who ever that is.  I thought he wanted to see Hank Williams, Jr.  Either way, whatever makes him happy.  It’s Father’s Day after all.  Gotta keep the Poppa happy.

At any rate, football season is lurking around the corner like a stalker.  Has anyone got any plans for this season?  I swear I wish the NFL would get their stuff straight already and let us know if the season is gonna kick off on time, or do we have to sit around and wait for them?  I know, I know, but doesn’t SOMEBODY care that we have DirecTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket all cranked up and ready to go!  Oh well, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.  (Just in case you’re curious the Free offer for it ends in 10 days.. just so you know.. after that it’ll cost you like $400 bucks) Have I mentioned that I’m impatient for the decision?  I really am.  I need to know now!

Oh well, so it’s back to work again…Someone find my caffeine IV!!

I hate Mondays :(

Father’s Day

Well it’s that time again.  Time to spoil the Papas and the Daddies.  All of them if you can!  I know I want to spoil mine.  I just have one problem with that.  My dad is so hard to pick for!  Like, really hard to pick for.  See, my dad has tools out the yin yang.  He’s got cologne, never changes watches unless his watch goes out, and is happy with the wallet he has.  Males.  Always so hard to pick gifts for.

So, in light of my current predicament, I went around the Brad’s Electronics office trying to figure out some ideas as to what to get my Dad for Father’s Day.  You know, as much as I like these guys, they are less than helpful on what to get the Dad who has everything.

Short run down of the answers.  Card, something that suits Dad’s personality, home-cooked meal, or a gift card to his favorite store.  My dad doesn’t have a favorite store unless you count like Auto Zone or something.  I suppose I could give him fireworks.  He loves the kabooms too.  Now you see where I get it ;) .  He’s one of those cannon firework people.  Big kabooms!

Oh, sorry I got distracted.  Anyway, so while I try to wrack my brain for ideas for my Dad, I hope ya’ll are having better luck than I at finding something that will make Papa smile this Sunday.  Yes, it is Sunday.  I would say chill out on the couch with the Pops and watch Father of the Bride, but I don’t think fathers with daughters would appreciate the fact that they’re one day going to have to sit down with a boy and have a chat while cleaning a shotgun.  By the way, my father never did that, but my brothers did one time.  Only I have this one brother (who’s not my blood but close enough) who has a collection that makes even the IRA go “Oh my goodness!”  True story.  I was amused, but I don’t think the guy was.  ;)

At any rate, I hope everyone has a wonderful Father’s Day.  To all the papas, daddies, and pops here at Brad’s Electronics… Happy Father’s Day from the Pixie.  Hope you have a good day with all the little mini yous.

Twinkle Toes Tuesday…

Okay so this one kind of snuck up on me.  I rolled out of bed this morning all excited for Wednesday!  You know, middle of the week, lots of stuff to get accomplished.  I was feeling pretty good about today.  My favorite day of the week!

Then… I looked at my phone and got pouty.  It was only Tuesday.  I don’t like Tuesdays.  They’re like that last jolly rancher that you don’t want, or like that Lifesaver gummy that you find on your desk and wonder how long it’s been there.  Also, you should probably go buy new gummies if that’s the case.  I’m just saying.  Anyway, Tuesdays are just… there.

Just being there is so not fun.  Oh oh speaking of just being there, I got to learn new stuff!  I know!  I love new stuff.  Well, actually it was stuff I do need to know… I think.  It does help out so it’s not so bad.  I love the new stuff though!  See, I have this thing I don’t like to be bored.  Ever.  If they keep me with new stuff then I’m happy!  Or well varied things at any rate.  It’s like one day I can do this, one day I can do that, and over and over again.  ADD is an odd critter, let me tell ya.

Anyway, so this new stuff I apparently don’t suck at so that’s always a bonus!  I’ve always been one of those people who have to know how everything works.  It’s like a compulsion.  Perhaps obsession would be a better term.  Either way, my little brain must always work on something other than what would make an awesome kaboom! ;)

You would never know how much work goes on behind the scenes for HughesNet.  I sure didn’t, to be honest.  Okay so it’s not just sending out the tech to install the system, or even the schedulers who call you to set up your appointment.  Well, okay that’s most of what everyone else sees, so to most that would be all there is too it.  It doesn’t sound that hard either.  However, reality is much much different.  At any rate, after scheduling and installing, there’s a whole other train to jump on.  Someone has to make sure the paperwork gets filed, close the job, submit the paperwork, correct any problems, make sure the pay has been done right, ect.  If you tried to take it all in at once you’d be curled up in a corner, sucking your thumb, crying for Mommy to make the bad people go away.  Oh… wait that was me earlier today. hehe.  Moving on!

Seriously though, it’s a lot of work around here for something someone termed once to me as a “cushy office job.”  Obviously they’ve never worked in an office.  I used to do hotel work.  You want to talk about cushy.  I got paid to basically just be there for 10-11 hours a day.  Now I won’t lie, I did like the quietness of it, but man was it boring!  I have to have something to do.  It’s just how I function.  It definitely doesn’t happen around here that’s for sure.  If I get bored here, then I’m not doing something right.  Or, I’m doing a lot of things right and have time to do more stuff too.

I think I’m covered in stuff to do though…

Yup, totally good on that one!
